Small Hands, Big Hearts!

The children from the MCC Jalan Kelang Lama Ladies Wing Hinduism Class have volunteered to help raise funds to run stalls at the Community Food and Fun Fair on July 9th, 2017 at the Malaysian Ceylonese National Community Centre (MCNCC).

It all began when their teacher asked them to run a children's stall at the Food and Fun Fair in aid of the Ceylon Association Taiping Restoration Fund.

Ahshwiyn Dharmond Ravindra, a 11 year old boy studying at the Global Indian International School, was one of the first to volunteer.

"I am working really hard to support the fundraiser for the Ceylon Association Taiping. I have raised enough money to be able to bake a cake for the fair. Now I am raising money to sponsor the candy stall" said Ahshwiyn, "I have been washing cars to earn the money. I have raised RM 40 so far! I am so excited to be able to contribute towards restoring the Heritage building for the Association."

Janessa Jaysshree Shanan (9 years old), Kehshaant Aqil Shanan (5 years old), S. Manisha Subramaniyam (13 years old), S. Subanu Subramaniyam (11 years old), S. Santhosh Subramaniyam (9 years old) and Sadasiva Pavanathan (16 years old), amongst others, will also be donating goodies to the children's stall in addition to managing and selling their home made items during the fair.

It is incredibly heart-warming to see such young children come together to support the community and preserve their cultural heritage.
