CAT Puts the Fun back in Fundraising!
Celebrate our cultural heritage with delicious food, good
music, incredible games and great shopping at the Ceylon Association Taiping’s
Community Food and Fun Fair on Sunday, July 9th 2017 at the
Malaysian Ceylonese National Community Centre (MCNCC) in Petaling Jaya.
Bringing the right blend of fundraising and family fun to
the entire community, the Food and Fun Fair will take place from 10 am – 4pm
with lots of games, music and authentic Ceylonese and Malaysian food and drink
stalls for the entire family.
This event is especially
dedicated to preserving and restoring the official premises of the oldest Ceylonese
Association located on the famous Taiping Heritage Row. This Grand Old Lady proudly
boasts of many significant achievements and milestones in the history of the Ceylonese
Community in Malaysia, such as the visit of the famous Indian National Leader,
Jawaharlal Nehru who visited its iconic premises in 1937.
"The heritage of the Ceylon
Association Taiping must be unveiled to the community and saved for future
generations; I urge the Ceylonese community and the wider Malaysian communities
to get behind this project and help save these iconic premises” said Dr
Indrarajah Sivasampu, President of the Ceylon Association Taiping.
